Conversation Program

On Monday conversation students study, discuss and practice useful slang and idioms that can be spoken and heard in everyday English conversations. The emphasis of Monday's class is placed on proper use and pronunciation of the material while having fun practicing the new vocabulary.

Tuesday conversation students take a look at material from business situations in North America. Business vocabulary, social customs, formal greetings and preparing for job interviews are a few topics students encounter. The focus of Tuesday's class is for students to gain knowledge and speaking skills that will help them succeed in future careers in English.

Wednesday conversation students read about currents events in the media. After reading selected articles students discuss their views on the topics and also learn new vocabulary. This class helps students keep up to date on events in the news and also provides an outlet for students to share their opinions about current events.

Thursday conversation students watch and listen to a video selection. Students discuss the story line, characters and vocabulary of the program. Transcripts are also provided for students who wish to follow along while they watch. This class is great for students who want to improve their viewing abilities and get a taste of popular television programs in Canada.

Friday conversation students are given the opportunity to practice their newly learned skills in a group atmosphere. The teacher provides fun and exciting material and the class revolves around broad topics with games, activities, and occasional heated debates. Friday's are also a time for general discussion where students can ask questions about any topic they are interested in.
