On Monday conversation students study, discuss and practice useful slang and idioms that can be spoken and heard in
everyday English conversations. The emphasis of Monday's class is placed on proper use and pronunciation of the
material while having fun practicing the new vocabulary.
Tuesday conversation students take a look at material from business situations in North America. Business vocabulary,
social customs, formal greetings and preparing for job interviews are a few topics students encounter. The focus of
Tuesday's class is for students to gain knowledge and speaking skills that will help them succeed in future careers
in English.
Wednesday conversation students read about currents events in the media. After reading selected articles students
discuss their views on the topics and also learn new vocabulary. This class helps students keep up to date on events
in the news and also provides an outlet for students to share their opinions about current events.
Thursday conversation students watch and listen to a video selection. Students discuss the story line, characters and
vocabulary of the program. Transcripts are also provided for students who wish to follow along while they watch.
This class is great for students who want to improve their viewing abilities and get a taste of popular television
programs in Canada.
Friday conversation students are given the opportunity to practice their newly learned skills in a group atmosphere.
The teacher provides fun and exciting material and the class revolves around broad topics with games, activities, and
occasional heated debates. Friday's are also a time for general discussion where students can ask questions about any
topic they are interested in.
