Listening Level III Program
This program is for advanced students. Weekly outline of this program is as follow
Monday level III students listen to selected news and current events from Canada and abroad.
The news clips vary in length and interest from political issues to food. This class is
designed to help students gain full understanding of radio broadcasts. Audio news exposes
students to clear pronunciation, local idioms, news vocabulary and standard speaking speed.
Students are asked a variety of questions on comprehension and vocabulary.
Tuesday level III students watch and listen to selected cuts from recent and classic movies.
Students examine the scenes to help increase their understanding of the story. Comprehension
is the focus of Tuesday's class and students are asked to answer questions, fill in the blanks
and learn new vocabulary.
Wednesday level III students watch and listen to selected speeches and interviews from famous film
makers to authors of well known novels. During the class students are asked to answer questions,
fill in the blanks and learn new vocabulary about the great minds of our time.
Thursday level III students listen to selected audio on food, history and music from Canada and abroad.
This class helps students examine multicultural interests and they are encouraged to answer a variety of
questions on the material.
Friday level III students listen to selected movie reviews on popular Hollywood movies and videos. Students
take an in depth look at what makes these movies and videos great while learning new vocabulary and gaining
comprehension of the review. Students are asked to answer questions and fill in the blanks to test their knowledge.
